Who We Are

We believe that learning should be a fun experience devoid of too much pressure. We aim to encourage curiosity and a willingness to take chances while fully participating. Too much emphasis is often put on the final outcome; the joy of learning and the freedom to make mistakes along the way is frequently lost. We create an environment with our students where expressing a lack of understanding is all just a part of the learning process and not something to ever be embarrassed about. Each student has individualized needs that are taken into consideration throughout tutoring to ensure that they can meet their unique goals.

Heather Steel

Tutor and Founder

  • Heather graduated with High Distinction from the University of Michigan-Dearborn with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with minors in Applied Statistics and Microbiology. She received her Master of Science in Applied Biostatistics and Epidemiology from the University of Southern California. She began working with students as a sophomore in college, mentoring multiple sections of Calculus II. She continued to tutor throughout her graduate degree and fell in love with helping students achieve their academic goals while building confidence along the way. She has supported students in a wide variety of mathematics and science courses, including AP Calculus AB and BC, AP Statistics, Business Statistics, Pre-Calculus, Algebra 1 and 2, AP Biology, Microbiology, AP Psychology and Honors Chemistry.

    In her free time, Heather enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog, watching college football, doing puzzles and exercising.
